Objective:SAP HR/Payroll Consultant

To find a fulfilling career that makes the best use of my skills.

Twelve years SAP HR Payroll functional consultant experience working on large multinational implementations (Philip Morris and Shell). Implementing global HR system including Employee Self Service (ESS) and Shared Service Centres (SSC).  Fully configured; SAP payroll system form small (8000 employees) to large (120,000 employees) implementations and PA, OM, Benefits, Compensation Management, Recruitment, Payroll and Time. In some cases interfacing to an external payroll. I have also acted as Shell’s technical lead for Compensation Management (CM). 

 

I have extensive knowledge and experience of implementing functional specification for most SAP HR modules and have experience of defining Global Procedures and Business Process Procedures.  I have understanding of the ASAP Q&Adb and Solution Manager Tools in blueprinting.
 

July 2006 to March 2008 Philip Morris International

SAP HR consultant working on migrating 104 affiliates in 57 countries to SAP Version 5.0 for Philip Morris International (Switzerland).  The conversion also involved reengineering to use Employee Self Service (ESS) and Shard Service Centre (SSC). I worked on the configuration of the SAP system for the PA modules which included Global Employee Management (GEM).  I am also the lead technical consultant implementing benefits for all migrated countries, also implementing Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) for Switzerland. I participated in Unit testing for the various countries, analysed the problems and resolved them. For Switzerland I participated in integration test (a process and technical test).

This is a complex project as it involves a large number of affiliates in different countries with different language requirements.  I have been the team lead on many implementations

March 2006 to July 2006 Proctor & Gambol

SAP HR Payroll consultant. Worked at Proctor & Gambol to incorporate Gillette’s UK payroll into P&G existing SAP payroll system. I analysed the requirement to incorporate the Gillette’s UK payroll into P&G global payroll system and producing a Blueprint.  Configured the Gillette’s payroll requirements and produced a test plan.

Feb 2002 to Dec 2005 Shell

SAP HR/Payroll Consultant working on version 4.6C for Shell International B.V. Netherlands as part of the core team for the global implementation on a single instance of SAP HR in 50 countries for 120,000 employees. 

Carried out the analysis, produced the Blueprint using ASAP Q&Adb implementation methodology and implemented/configured the following modules.

·         Personnel administration (PA) 

·         Organizational Management (OM)

·         Compensation management (CM)

·         Personnel Development (PD)

·         Learning Event Management (LEM)

·         Created technical functional specification for new requirements

·         Created data load specifications and supervised the upload.

 

In addition I rolled out the solution the following countries;

Great Britain, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emeritus, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and The Philippines.

 

I was also responsible for creating technical specifications to modify standard SAP functionality to fulfil Shell’s global Compensation Management (CM) requirements and created technical specifications for ESS and MSS.

I reviewed Business Process procedures for correctness and completeness, also supervised the update of training manuals to incorporate the changes for the newly implemented country

Nov 2000 to Jan 2002 Boston Medical Centre

Independent SAP Payroll (PY) Consultant working on version 4.6C with KPMG (USA).  Solely responsible for the complete implementation and configuration of Payroll and FI (for payroll interface) for Boston Medical Centre (BMC) and Public Health Commission (PHC)

·         Carried out the analysis and documentation in the Blueprint phase using I2R methodology for

·         Payroll.

·         Benefits.

·         Time Management.

·         Personnel Administration.

·         Configured payroll for Boston Medical Centre (BMC) and Public Health Commission (PHC).

·         Created/Modified Rules and Schemas.

·         The implementation was for 8,000 employees mainly Union hourly.

·         Configured FI for payroll GL/Cost Centre posting.

·         Wrote ABAP code for user exits and reports.

·         Implemented the public sector part of the SAP enhancements for Benefits and Bond processing.

·         Created specifications and field mapping for legacy data load.

·         Set the plan, conduct and evaluated the results for integration testing.

·         Created and implemented the plan for parallel testing. 

·         Automated the comparison of payroll results between the legacy system and SAP.

·         Carried out post-Go Live support.

·         Created End user procedure manuals.

·         Created configuration manuals.

May 2000 to October 2000 Amtrak

Independent SAP HR Consultant. (USA)

Working at Amtrak with KPMG as a team lead, implemented Recruitment, Training and Events, Task catalogue and Qualifications.  Produced detailed end user training manuals, configuration documentation and gave end user training at multiple locations.  Created specifications for legacy data load, reports specifications and created custom infotypes.

January 2000 to April 2000 Computer Sciences Corp

Independent SAP HR Consultant. SAP version 4.6B. (USA)

Worked on a fast track implementation from the USA for one of Computer Sciences Corp (CSC). new outsourcing deals in South Africa.  The project started in January 2000 and went live on March 23 2000.  The requirements were gathered remotely and the configuration work carried out in USA.  My main duties involved the configuration of Time Management, Work Schedules, Absence/Attendance, quota, Leave and Creating/modifying Time Schemas for time evaluation, creating new infotype, master data and writing user exits.  From mid March I was working on the conversion of CSC main payroll system from version 3.1H to 4.6B. 

May 1999 to Dec 1999 Amtrak

Independent SAP HR Consultant. SAP version 4.0B (USA)

Working with SAP USA at Amtrak as a Team lead responsible for payroll configuration on a 24,000-employee implementation.  The implementation is a mixture of salaried and union employees.  I supervised a number of functional and technical end users to gather the requirements and configure all aspects of the SAP HR system to produce a successful payroll run.  This included the configuration of Wage Type, Taxes, Schemas, Rules and creating new infotypes.  I was also involved in master data, Benefit and Garnishment configuration, legacy data load and writing ABAP/4 code for user exit to simplify the end user duties.  I wrote programs, which were executed by Dynamic Actions that minimized the work done by end users.

I was involved in giving end user training and post-go live customer support.

June 1996 to April 1999 Computer Science Corporation

Independent SAP HR Consultant. SAP version 3.1H (USA)

As senior HR team lead on a phased global HR/Payroll implementation for 45,000 employees at Computer Science Corporation , responsible for the HR configuration, specifically in the areas of Master Data, Time Management, Benefits, Taxes, Organisational Management, PD, PA, and Payroll.

As a team lead for Payroll, Time Management and Benefits I worked with client employees gathering the requirements for the 38 organizations that were to be converted to SAP. The processes determined the scope of the project and the conversion phase of the organizations to SAP.  As part of the knowledge transfer I supervised and instructed client’s employees in the configuration of the areas above at the same time resolving more complex problems.

I chaired a number of meetings to resolve/clarify points with sponsors, end users from different organizations and external service providers e.g. heath plan providers, as well as Business Reengineering to extract the maximum benefits from SAP HR.

I was heavily involved with technical employees regarding the drawing up of technical specification for the transfer of data from external and legacy systems to SAP and back.

 

I was responsible for creating the following:

·         Customer specific PA and PD infotypes.

·         Customer specific tables (and appended new fields to existing tables)

·         Dynamic events

·         Time and Payroll Schemas, Cycles and Features

·         Wage types

·         ABAP/4 code for user exit, and reports

·         ABAP/4 reports to transfer Master data from legacy system to SAP R/3 via BDC sessions and call transactions

·         Gross to net payroll calculation

Additional responsibilities included the following:

·         Trouble shooting a productive environment and fixing problems as they occurred

·         Analysing and implementing SAP Legal Correction Patches (LCP)

·         Producing specifications for new reports

·         Conducting training classes for end users and technical employees

·         Interfacing SAP data to a Data warehousing system
